The Bourbon Dynasty
The Bourbon Dynasty is a potent blend of American music.
We draw our inspiration from that pure well of music where country, blues and rock flow together.
We got together a couple of years ago, working on a record at Scary Clown Studio in the outskirts of the Washington DC area.
Charles Walston, formerly of a band called The Vidalias, wrote the songs. Philip Stevenson worked his engineering magic on his old Studer tape machine and played bass. They were joined by Bob Craver on guitar (formerly of 52 Pickup, Reluctant Playboys and DT and the Shakes); Bob Berberich on drums ( formerly of Grin) and Mark Stevens on keyboards (who toured with Roomful of Blues).
Guitarists Pete Kanaras (the Nighthawks), Mike Woods (Honky Tonk Confidential) and Page Waldrop (Vidalias) dropped by the studio to play a few parts, and horns and gospel singers provided the finishing touches.
As the recording took shape, Craver and Walston decided to form a band that could perform the material live, along with vintage country, blues and rock songs they both love. The current lineup includes drummer Mike Persh and bass player Donnie Craver (Bob's big brother).
The Bourbon Dynasty’s new record was released early in 2007 on Night World Records. The CD is available in finer music stores, and from online sources including Joe Rockhead.com, Kook Kat Musik, iTunes and CD Baby.
Songs from the record can be heard on this site and at the Bourbon Dynasty’s myspace page: www.myspace.com/thebourbondynasty
